This piece is inspired by my love of Norwegian Rosemaling! This is a very lightweight 12" wooden round which can be easily hung or set on a small tripod for a table display. In the middle lies an 8" aluminum insert from which I chose the surrounding hand-painted color pallet. The blue tones in this piece are very traditional withing the Norwegian culture and often seen on Nordic dishware. The heart pattern surrounding the edges of this piece is also congruent with traditional Nordic patterns. The width of this wooden piece measures approximately 1/4 inch. All paints used are acrylic.
